EXCEPT FOR AN AREA OF CLOUD COVER THAT HAD DEVELOPED OVER CENTRAL
INTO SOUTHEAST IOWA THIS MORNING...IT WAS A SUNNY MORNING. IOWANS
AWOKE TO MUCH COOLER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES WITH EXTREMES
RANGING FROM MIDDLE 30S NORTHWEST TO THE LOWER 50S SOUTHEAST.
EXTREMES RANGED FROM 37 AT SHELDON TO 52 AT KEOKUK AND MUSCATINE.
BY LATE MORNING...READINGS WERE IN THE UPPER 50S TO MIDDLE 60S.
NORTHEAST WINDS WERE 5 TO 15 MPH.
HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE UPPER MIDWEST WILL REMAIN IN PLACE THROUGH
MID WEEK. DRY CONDITIONS WITH COOLER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION. THE HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED
TO BE CENTERED DIRECTLY OVER IOWA TONIGHT AND WILL BRING NEAR
RECORD LOW TEMPERATURES. OVERNIGHT LOWS TONIGHT WILL RANGE IN THE
UPPER 30S NORTH TO THE LOWER AND MIDDLE 40S SOUTH. HIGHS TODAY ARE
EXPECTED TO BE IN THE UPPER 60S. HIGH PRESSURE IS LIKELY TO SLOWLY
SHIFT EAST ON MONDAY AND TUESDAY...ALLOWING FOR SOUTHERLY WINDS TO
DEVELOP AND BRING SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES TO THE REGION.
HIGHS MONDAY AND TUESDAY WILL BE IN THE 70S. THE NEXT CHANCE OF
PRECIPITATION WILL BE ON WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH THE AREA.
