NIAID Support for Research

Scientists in NIAID labs conduct basic, translational, and clinical research in a wide range of disciplines related to immunology, allergy, and infectious diseases. NIAID conducts and supports biomedical research to understand, treat, and prevent infectious and immune-mediated diseases, including research to combat diseases of worldwide concern, such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, neglected tropical diseases, emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. Resources for Researchers

NIAID supports a comprehensive set of services for researchers. These services provide infrastructure for basic through clinical research. They facilitate preclinical and clinical research needed to translate the ideas generated through basic research into safe and effective drugs, vaccines, and diagnostics to control and prevent infectious diseases.
