Flood Safety Awareness Week - Today's Topic AHPS
Your National Weather Service (NWS) invites your participation in the annual national Flood Safety Awareness Week, March 16-20, 2009.
Today's theme is the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service or AHPS. AHPS provides water prediction and delivery methods to serve your needs and the needs of all our partners in protecting life and property from flood and other water hazards.
AHPS enables you to get reliable answers to such questions as:
- How high will the river rise?
- When will the river crest?
- Where will it flood?
- How long will the flood last?
- How certain is the forecast?
