Stormapalooza Coming to Ottawa February 28!

 

Storm-a-palooza is coming to Ottawa February 28! What is Storm-a-palooza? It is severe weather safety and preparedness program for kids. It is being organized by Morgan Johnson as an Eagle Scout project. The program will be held at the Reddick Library Annex in Ottawa on Saturday February 28 from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm. The library is at 1010 Canal Street in Ottawa. The Boy Scouts will set up displays and information. A meteorologist from the Chicago office of National Weather Service will give a presentation on severe weather. The presentation will give facts, myths, and preparedness information about lightning, hail, flash floods, downbursts and tornadoes. There will also be information about volunteer and career opportunities for young people interested in meteorology. The program is aimed at students in middle school, junior high and high school.
