Storm Total Rainfall Amounts

The remnants of what once was Hurricane Gustav provided welcome rainfall to the area over the last 36 hours.  Total amounts ranged from 2 to 4 inches as reported by National Weather Service Cooperative Observers and Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network (CoCoRaHS) observers. Despite the heavy rainfall, there was no significant flood problems due to the fact that the rain fell over a long duration and conditions had been very dry prior to the rainfall.
