Heat To Arrive This Weekend?
The past few weeks has featured a trough of low pressure over the Great Lakes, which has largely kept the dome of summer time heat and humidity supressed to the high plains and western portions of the U.S. There are increasing number of computer forecast models that are suggesting that the trough, which has kept the heat at bay for our region, will get shunted eastward as the dome of heat at least temporarily expands eastward into the Midwest and Great Lakes Sunday into early next week.
If the pattern evolves as forecast, then high temperatures could soar well into the 90's, with heat indices probably climbing into the triple digits on Sunday and Monday!
