August 2007 is the Wettest Month Ever at Rockford
The 1.23 inches of rainfall that was recorded at the Rockford Airport for Thursday August 23rd took the monthly rainfall total for August 2007 to 13.82 inches in Rockford. This set the record for the wettest month ever in the history of recorded climate data at Rockford. The old record for the wettest month in Rockford was 13.55 inches set in August 1987. On August 24th, an additional 0.11 inches of rain fell at Rockford which brought the monthly total to 13.93 inches. The final amount of rainfall for the month of August 2007 may increase during the last seven days of the month.
