A tornado touched down in the southwest corner of Bolingbrook Illinois Sunday evening, August 5, 2007.  This tornado did some damage near the intersection of 127th Street and Essington Road.  This tornado was rated EF0 with an estimated wind speed of 65 to 85 mph.  This is the enhanced Fujita scale for wind damage.

There was a construction trailer flipped over and shingles were taken off a barn.  These were about a quarter mile north of the intersection of 127th and Essington Road.  There was some structural damage to a townhouse in a new subdivision about 600 feet northeast of the barn and trailer.  This subdivision is just west of the Bolingbrook Golf Club.  Other damage included portable toilets turned over, large branches blown down from a willow tree and small trees were uprooted.  The tornado lifted over the Bolingbrook Golf Course.  The direction of damage and the spread of debris indicate that this was a tornado and not a microburst.  The path length of this tornado was about 1600 feet.

The tornado and its preceding funnel cloud were seen by many people around Bolingbrook, Romeoville and LockportIllinois .  Meteorologists at the National Weather Service Office at the Lewis Lockport Airport saw the tornado as well.  There was a mesocyclone signature on the WSR-88D radar velocity display from the terminal Doppler radar from Midway Airport .  A tornado warning was issued for Central Cook County, Southeastern DuPage County and North Central Will County that evening.
