New Daily Graphical Weather Story Available

On Monday, June 25, 2007 NOAA’s National Weather Service Office in Chicago began providing a new service to online users - The Weather Story.  The service goal is to provide a snap shot of the most important weather feature affecting the WFOs local forecast area.

The Weather Story provides a graphical presentation of the most significant weather feature expected to impact the local area for the following seven days. The service will depict weather threats, such as severe thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, strong winds, fire danger and excessive heat; or it may highlight a stretch of pleasant weather.

The graphical “Weather Story” can be accessed on the Chicago NWS office web site at the tag found on the upper right corner of the “Top News of the Day” section.

This service is available on all NWS Central Region Forecast Office web sites. It will be updated by 8 a.m. local time each day.

The National Weather Service will be collecting comments on the Graphical Weather Story until September 30, 2007.
