Nearly $1.2 Billion in Grants Available to Help Doctors and Hospitals Use Electronic Health Records
The Recovery Act HITECH Grants will fund approximately 70 Health Information Technology Regional Extension Centers to provide technical assistance and support. Funds will also provide state-level grants to share information across a nationwide system of networks.
The above funding levels for Improving and Preserving Health Care and for Health IT are estimates as of May 1, 2009. These estimates are being further refined and the chart will be updated when new estimates are available.
Most of Recovery Act funding will go to States, Territories, and Tribes, who will in turn distribute funds through grants, contracts, subsidies, loan programs, etc. Be sure to check your State Web site for information. Additionally, check the list of State Recovery sites for a link to your state.
