Survey of Business Owners
The number of firms and their sales, employment, and payroll are tabulated--by NAICS subsector, geographic area, size, and legal form of organization--for
- All companies (businesses)
and for businesses owned by
- Blacks
- Hispanics
- American Indians and Alaska Natives
- Asians
- Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders
- Women

Data for firms owned by the groups listed above are presented along with data for businesses owned by nonminority males, at the national and state levels, on selected
- Ownership characteristics (e.g., age, education, hours worked, disability)
- Business characteristics (e.g., home-based, family-owned, franchising, year started, financing)

Business Expenses
The Business Expenses Survey is a once-in-5-years supplement to the Annual Retail Trade Survey, the Annual Wholesale Trade Survey, and the Service Annual Survey. Data on operating expenses of most industries are presented, including supplemental labor costs, energy costs, taxes and a variety of purchased services including advertising, legal and accounting services, and repairs. Corresponding data for manufacturing, mining, and construction are published in 2007 Economic Census Industry Series reports.

Transportation Survey
The Commodity Flow Survey reports on the origin and destination of commodities shipped from selected industries.
