Announcing AFI Academies on Financial Education
 - For AFI Grantees, Sub-grantees and Project Partners -

The AFI Program Resource Center is pleased to offer a series of five two-day AFI Academies for AFI Grantees and their partners.  We encourage you to attend a session!  These sessions are offered to AFI representatives free of charge, although attendees will be responsible for travel and accommodations costs.

Starting with the principles of adult learning, participants will learn methods to animate financial education content in ways that resonate with target audiences.  Participants will also learn techniques for managing challenging dynamics, ways of addressing important but often forgotten elements of financial literacy and strategies for creating effective ongoing financial education opportunities. The Academies will also cover assessing knowledge and skill attainment and training evaluation.  Participants will leave with a toolbox of resources and training approaches for specific areas of content including budgeting, credit, investing, consumerism and asset protection. 

Who Should Participate:

The Academies are designed for staff of AFI grantees, subgrantees and their partner agencies who:

  1. Provide, coordinate, or manage financial literacy education within an AFI project;
  2. Are interested in learning more about effective training and facilitation methods; and
  3. Want to deepen their understanding of basic financial literacy concepts.
