Iraq Invests in Higher Education: Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki announced the Iraq Education Initiative at AED on July 25, which will send up to 10,000 Iraqi students per year over the next five years to the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia to complete their higher education studies. AED will provide advisory support to the Initiative, which is designed, funded, and managed AED is a nonprofit organization that combines great ideas with real-world perspective to change lives by improving health, education, social and economic development. Focusing on the underserved, AED works with domestic and international partners to implement more than 300 programs serving people in all 50 U.S. states and more than 150 countries. |
