Snow in northern Europe

This true-color Terra MODIS image from December 31, 2002, features snow in northern Europe. At the top of the image are the countries of Norway (left) and Sweden (right), which have most of the snowcover, while at center-left is Denmark, which has snow only on its northernmost tip. At the bottom left of the image is the Netherlands, and moving progressively east are Germany and Poland, all of which are snow-free, though partially obscured by clouds. North of Poland is the Baltic Sea, while west of Denmark is the North Sea.
