NOTE: BTS analysis based on scheduled services provided on April 3, 2005.

NOTE: In Alaska there are 47,155 rural residents with access to the Interstate ferry service offered by the Alaska Marine Highway System, and for 1,877 the ferry provides their only intercity transportation access. In Washington State there are 35,561 rural residents with access to the Alaska Marine Highway, with all having access to at least one other mode.
