Plug-in Hybrid Proof Technology Project
Project Description:
The City will purchase 20-25 hybrid vehicles and convert them into Plug-in-Hybrids (PHEV), capable of being charged via solar charging stations.
It's anticipated the PHEV's will be assigned to high mileage applications with an added goal of improving mileage by 50%. According to the Department of Energy emission calculator, these vehicles should reduce the City's fuel use by 40,000 gallons annually and reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 445 Metric tons annually.
