About A&T

The Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition and Technology) advises the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics) on matters relating to the acquisition, integration and protection of technology.

Acquisition and Technology (A&T) provides oversight and policy direction for the Department of Defense's acquisition system, developmental testing, industrial base, contracting, small business programs, and systems and software engineering. A&T also operates two Defense Agencies — Defense Acquisition University (DAU) and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).

More than 11,000 people, including nearly 700 military personnel, work in A&T-led organizations.
