This pair of true-color images from NASA’s Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) show the Ross Ice Shelf in Antarctica. The Ross Ice Shelf straddles the 180 degree longitude line. The imagse from November 11 and 12, 2001, show a bit of Victoria Land at image left, including the TransAntarctic Mountains. A rectangular ice berg is anchored near Ross Island. At center and right is the cast Ross Ice Shelf, and at far right is Saunders Coast.
