Already late June, and still the Long Range Mountains on the northern arm of the Island of Newfoundland (image right) are holding on to a bit of slushy-looking snow. To the west, sun glints off the Gulf of St.Lawrence. At the far left, the Gaspe Peninsula of New Brunswick, Canada, is bright green with new vegetation. This Moderate resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image was captured on June 19, 2002.
