This guide contains federal emission standards for on-road and nonroad vehicles and engines, and related fuel sulfur standards.  Each table includes the standards, useful life, warranty period, and the availability of averaging, banking, and trading (ABT).  In addition, the applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) citations are provided.

This guide is for reference purposes only; it does not include detailed information about all variations and restrictions associated with the standards.  The regulated community should refer to the CFR for complete information on all standards to ensure compliance.

Additional information on mobile source emission standards, including regulations and guidance documents, is available at EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ).  General information on the different air pollutants that are produced by mobile sources and fuels, the various programs that OTAQ has undertaken to control emissions of those pollutants, and the impact those programs have had on emissions is available at Mobile Sources - Past, Present, and Future.

This page is maintained by EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ).
