How Do I Place a Lien on Someone's Property?

To place a lien or find out about a claim of lien, call the County Clerks' office at 768-4090.

The Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority is responsible for providing water and sewer services to Albuquerque residents. How can we find out who owns a problem property in our neighborhood?

You can visit the Bernalillo County Assessor's Office. You should be given the name and address of the person to whom the Tax Assessment Notice is being mailed. The County Assessor's Office can be reached by phone at (505) 222-3700.

The Bernalillo County Treasurer's Office can tell you who is currently paying the property taxes on the property. Some information may be available by phone if you have the exact street address.

What can I do when I find hyperdermic needles in the street or parks or anywhere out in the open.

When you come across hyperdermic needles and they appear to be used or bloody do not touch them call the Albuquerque Fire Department at (505) 833-7391. If you are in the Bernalillo County call (505) 345-5600.

The Fire Department will send a crew to pick up the needles, please do not pick them up or touch them or allow your children or any child to touch them in any way.

If you suspect a dangerous situation always call 911.

What is the number to the Garden Center?

The Garden Center is a privately run organization located directly across from the Los Altos Pool. The telephone number is 296-6020.

My gas/electric line/service is broken/interrupted.

If you have a gas leak or if you smell gas, this is an emergency situation. Call the New Mexico Gas Company immediately at 1-888-NMGASCO (664-2726).

If your gas line is broken and it is outside of your house, the New Mexico Gas Company will repair it. If your gas line is broken and it is inside your house, you are responsible for the repair. The New Mexico Gas Company will remove the gas meter and re-install it once the problem inside of the house has been corrected.

Do you take moving violation payments, and if not who does?

The City only accepts parking citation payments that are 15 days and under. You may mail your payment to:

Or, you may make payment in person at the Metropolitan Courthouse.

Landlord complaints are handled by the State of New Mexico. To report a complaint, please contact 1-505-983-8447.

You may get birth certificates (or a copy) from the State of New Mexico Health Department, Public Health Division, Stanford Public Health Office, 1111 Stanford, NE., phone (505) 841-4185 or 841-4186.

How do I get a copy of my divorce decree?

You can obtain a copy of your divorce decree at the State of New Mexico Judicial District Court. For Albuquerque, their phone number is (505) 841-7425.

How can I contact the Motor Vehicle Department?

Where can I get information regarding commodities?

State of New Mexico, Department of Human Services, Commodities Bureau located at 1425 Williams St., SE., phone (505) 841-2687, provides commodity assistance for eligible citizens of Bernalillo County.

ECHO Inc., at 1301 Broadway Blvd., NE, phone (505) 242-6777, provides commodity assistance for low income applicants under 6 years of age not on a WIC program and seniors over the age of 60.

Roadrunner Food Bank of New Mexico located at 2500 Gibson Blvd., SE, phone (505) 247-2052, provides referral information on commodity distribution locations, phone calls only, no walk in service.

Commodities are also distributed by the Department of Family & Community Services, Health and Social Service Centers.

How do I find out information on road conditions?

The New Mexico Department of Transportation maintains information on road conditions overall regarding state roads along with conditions during inclement weather.

Visit the NMDOT website.

Road advisories can be obtained by calling 1-800-432-4269 or visiting the Road Advisory website.

How do I contact the Department of Labor?

The Albuquerque Office of the New Mexico Department of Labor is located at 501 Mountain Road NE (map). Their phone number is (505) 841-4000.

I hit a pothole on the freeway and I need my car fixed.

The highway as well as State maintained roads, such as Tramway Blvd and Paseo Del Norte, are the responsibilty of the New Mexico Highway Department.

If you damage you car on the highway or any State road you may call the New Mexico Highway Department in Albuquerque at (505) 841-2700 to get help with your situation.

Tramway needs to be swept.

Tramway Blvd is maintained by the New Mexico State Highway Department you may make a request for sweeping by calling (505) 841-2700.

Who maintains the freeways?

The New Mexico Department of Transportation maintains Interstate 40 and Interstate 25 as well as Tramway Boulevard.
