This site is located at 4729 River Road, Jefferson County, New Orleans, Louisiana.
While the actual years of operations for the Phase 1 sites vary overall, we do know that the Libby, Montana mine operated from the 1920s until 1990. These Phase 1 sites may have received vermiculite from Libby at any time during these years. All Phase 1 sites ceased processing of the vermiculite by in the early 1990’s. This site ceased operations in 1990.
