Insurance Changes

March 12: As the March 16 sales closing date for federal crop insurance fast approaches, the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) would like to remind growers of a significant enhancement in the federal crop insurance program.

Policy Competition

March 10: The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) is sponsoring a competition organized by the Farm Foundation that seeks innovative and promising public policy options to address the challenges agriculture may face in providing food, feed, fiber, and fuel during the next 30 years.

Mycotoxin Funds Sought

March 9: Last week, corn farmers from Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi and Alabama made Capitol Hill visits to advocate on important agriculture issues. The group specifically was lobbying for agricultural research funding to address ongoing concerns with mycotoxin contamination in corn.

Corn farmers representing 10 state associations as well as the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) have joined together to form the Corn Farmers Coalition to educate policymakers in Washington about how innovative farmers are growing more corn every year with fewer resources while protecting the environment. The coalition has launched a Web site, an advertising campaign and a statistical abstract on America’s biggest crop.
