ORISE Preparedness Group Garners Second Award for Pandemic Flu Contributions
For the second time this year, the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) has been recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for improving health care preparedness across the nation.

CHRIS Adds First of Eight Churches Outside Tenn. to Program.
Edna Sherer, a Consumer Health Resource Information Service (CHRIS) program coordinator from Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Charlotte, N.C., signed a poster during a recent CHRIS launch ceremony. Pleasant Hill was one of seven other Charlotte churches outside the state of Tennessee to adopt the CHRIS program.

Harry Anderson Page Named President and CEO of ORAU
Harry Anderson (Andy) Page has been named President and CEO of Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). The appointment was announced today by Dr. Win Phillips, Chair of the ORAU Board of Directors and Vice President for Research at the University of Florida.

ORISE Responds to H1N1 Flu, Sees Results from Prepared Community
As reports of confirmed H1N1 flu increase, ORISE continues to collaborate with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Division of Healthcare Quality and Promotion (DHQP) to prepare communities for public health emergencies. ORISE was most recently recognized with DHQP for their collaborative work to prepare one local community on how to respond in the event of a pandemic flu, such as H1N1.
