15th Annual Wild Horse & Burro Expo, October 22-25, Belton, Texas

The Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse & Burro Program (New Mexico region) will hold its 15th Annual Wild Horse & Burro Expo in Belton, Texas, October 22-25, 2009, at the Bell County Expo Center.  It’ll be a weekend filled with exciting entertainment, competition, and education, plus an opportunity to adopt one of "America’s Living Legends!" It’s all free and open to the public!

Restore New Mexico
BLM is working with landowners, other agencies and conservation partners to restore New Mexico’s landscapes.  This historic effort will benefit wildlife, people and the economy.

The BLM is working with The Peregrine Fund and other agencies to restore Aplomado Falcons to their native historic ranges in southern New Mexico. 

  

Bighorn Sheep

Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep Released in Rio Grande Gorge – The First Release on BLM Lands in New Mexico!
The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, working with the Bureau of Land Management and the Taos Pueblo, have augmented a population of Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep in the Rio Grande Gorge north of the Orilla Verde Recreation Area.
