Chairman Fryzel Visits Library of Congress Federal Credit Union
May 14, 2008, Alexandria, Va. – National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Chairman Michael E. Fryzel yesterday visited the Library of Congress Federal Credit Union on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., to recognize the credit union and its contribution to the community.

“In visiting the Library of Congress Federal Credit Union, I was able to see first-hand how a very well-established credit union, founded in 1935, has continued to innovate and provide real value to its members. The credit union’s varied membership, and the multitude of services that the credit union provides, are impressive,” noted Chairman Fryzel.
The National Credit Union Administration is the independent federal agency that regulates charters and supervises federal credit unions. NCUA, with the backing of the full faith and credit of the U.S. government, also operates and manages the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund, insuring the deposits of nearly 90 million account holders in all federal credit unions and the majority of state-chartered credit unions.
