ª All data for 2001 - 2007 were collected electronically through the Electronic Foodborne Outbreak Reporting System (EFORS) without confirmation of etiology by CDC staff; all etiologies are as reported by the state. Etiologies of outbreaks prior to 2001 had been confirmed by CDC staff. Therefore some differences may exist comparing 2001 - 2007 data with that from prior years.
