Home > FAQs > DOCLINE -- Time-Triggered Actions |
Time-triggered actions are a function of the DOCLINE program designed to move requests through the system based upon the Service Level (Normal, Rush, Urgent Patient Care) without delays caused by non-receipt or non-action on the part of the lender.
The time-triggered actions program runs from 12:05 AM to 12:15 AM, Eastern Time (ET), Monday through Friday. When the time-triggered action program runs at 12:05 AM, DOCLINE determines which libraries have requests to receipt and requests to update.
Receipt
Libraries have one day to receipt a Normal request. If requests are routed to a library during the day, they should be receipted. However, the requests will still be available for receipt the next day because DOCLINE will begin counting the one (1) day effective 12:05 AM the next morning. Requests that are not receipted by 12:05 AM the following day will be rerouted to another lender.
Below is an example for a Normal request:
Libraries must receipt a request with a service level of Rush or Urgent Patient Care the same day it routes to the lender. Requests that are not receipted by 12:05 AM that same night will be routed to another lender.
Below is an example for a Rush or Urgent Patient Care request:
Lend
Libraries have three (3) days to update a Normal request. The day a library receipts the request is day zero. DOCLINE will begin counting day one (1) effective 12:05 AM the next morning.
Below is an example:
Libraries have one (1) day to update a Rush or Urgent Patient Care request. The day a library receipts the request is day zero. DOCLINE will begin counting the one (1) day effective 12:05 AM the next morning.
Below is an example:
Important note:
Users should avoid receipting and updating requests between 12:05 AM - 12:15 AM (ET), while the system is running time-triggered actions.
HOLIDAYS
Time-triggered actions do not run on the following U.S. holidays:
Time-triggered actions do run on the following U.S. federal holidays because many libraries are open:
Note: Requests routed to the National Library of Medicine are not affected by Time-Triggered Actions.
