DOCLINE -- Loansome Doc Notification

Question: Why isn't there always notification when Loansome Doc requests are filled and shipped to the patron?
Answer:

When a transferred Loansome Doc (LD) request is retired, the original LD transaction is complete. If a library resubmits the retired DOCLINE request, it is treated as a new DOCLINE request and not as a LD transfer. When the resubmitted transaction is filled and shipped, no LD notification message is sent; it is treated like a DOCLINE request.
