The Roseburg District BLM hosts seven "first-come" campgrounds, two group reservation campgrounds, and a variety of day-use areas for picnicking, water play, raft launching, and wildlife viewing. A 1,300 foot segment along the lower stem of Cow Creek is withdrawn from private mining claims to offer recreational gold panning opportunities to the public. This day-use area is located in the middle of the 45-mile Cow Creek Back Country Byway. No fees apply. A Byway brochure is available at the Roseburg District BLM. 
Driving for PleasureRogue-Umpqua Scenic BywayDiscover the Rogue-Umpqua Scenic Byway, a stunning 172-mile drive along the North Umpqua and Upper Rogue Wild & Scenic Rivers to their headwaters in the heart of the Southern Cascades. The drive owes its dramatic scenery and incredible landscapes to a fiery volcanic past. It is designated as a BLM, USFS, State, and National Scenic Byway. more>> 
Cow Creek Back Country BywayThe Cow Creek road is a 45-mile BLM Back Country Byway and Oregon State Tour Route. Its two lane paved road between Riddle and Glendale parallels Cow Creek and the railroad. The operating railroad follows the original Oregon and California Rail Road Company grade built in 1869. Roseburg BLM manages four trail systems: the 79-mile North Umpqua Trail, Wolf Creek Falls Trail, Susan Creek Falls Trail, and a network of hiking, mountain biking and equestrian trails on the North Bank Ranch Habitat Management Area (information under construction). more>> 
Waterfall ViewingPeople have always been drawn to waterfalls as places of wonder, relaxation and inspiration. Roseburg BLM offers two majestic waterfalls at Susan Creek and Wolf Creek. Fish can also be seen jumping Deadline Falls on their journey up the North Umpqua River near Swiftwater.
