In the spring of 1999, sixteen Oregon institutions of higher education came together to form an international marketing network, STUDY OREGON. These schools, ranging from private language academies and community colleges to public and private universities, joined together because of a common vision of promoting Oregon as a destination for international students. The United States Export Assistance Center, part of the US Department of Commerce, works with Study Oregon to help pursue its goal.
