Please keep in mind that this is the first increase in fees since 1991. Notice:Effective December 15, 2002, Erie County no longer maintains a file of applicant transcripts. Exam applicants must be prepared to provide documentation of educational qualifications (transcript, diploma, etc.) to the hiring agency prior to appointment (at the job interview, for example). Documentation may also be submitted with the exam application, but will not be retained for future reference. *All job notices, applications, and study guides in each section are in pdf (Adobe Acrobat/Reader) format. Erie County Civil Service AreaGovernment jobs in Erie County, its towns, villages, school districts and authorities are typically filled from eligible lists resulting from examinations given for specific titles. The examination may be a written test, a performance test, or an evaluation of training and experience, or some combination of these and other factors. This section contains summary information about exams for which the above named agencies are currently seeking candidates. You may obtain application at the Erie County Personnel Office, Rath County Office Building, 95 Franklin St., Buffalo. Applications are also available at all libraries, town and village halls, county office buildings, NYS Employment Service and many non-profit agencies. A non refundable filing fee is required for each exam.
