Globalization changed FDA’s environment for regulating products. Based on the volume of imported products, FDA identified China, India, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America as areas in which to establish a permanent presence.
Harmonization and Multilateral Relations
Encourage, build, and maintain global cooperation between regulatory authorities in order to develop mutually useful standards and guidances to safeguard and improve public health.
Capacity Building
FDA's Capacity Building and Technical Assistance Program includes activities in which FDA collaborates with foreign regulatory counterparts to help assure the safety and quality of products.
