FTC: Made In The USA Comments Concerning Sheri Fuller--P894219 August 07, 1997 The Honorable Robert Pitofsky Dear Sir: I would like to take a few minutes to convey my feelings on the issue of guidelines for "Made in USA” labeling. I am a member of a stitching team for New Balance Athletic Shoe, Inc. I think that a 100% content on labor and manufacturing is improbable in most cases and therefore damaging to the textile industry and manufacturing throughout the country. I feel that a 75% content is reasonable and would still stand for quality and allow us to remain competitive. We need to keep our jobs here and not drive them overseas.
