I feel that there should not be a fee to receive a credit score with a free report. The reason for the report is to see where you stand according to your score to in relationship to getting credit and to see how your creditors see how creditworthy you are. If you are having to pay a fee for a report just to say you owe this or that, then you still do not know what they are basing their decisions on unless you know your score. I believe that after the first report, then yes you should be charged a fee like you do when you apply for a report after you receive the first one. However, the fee should not cost more than the report or not even have the amount of the report.
