Yellow Crinoids and Bamboo Coral

[Yellow crinoids and sediment cores, alrock.jpg=56KB]

During the 1999 and 2002 DSV Alvin expeditions to Gulf of Alaska seamounts, yellow crinoids and bamboo coral were seen. This photo shows them on the rocks with sediment coring tubes in the foreground. On the Patton Seamount, yellow crinoids were abundant from 583 meters to the top of the seamount at about 300 meters (Text excerpted from Report of R/V Atlantis Cruise 3-36).
