The Miller Freeman carries two small boats which may be used for a wide range of activities including personnel and cargo transfer, rescue operations, diving, trawling and various types of sampling.

	Munson Launch The Munson Launch, a 26' HammerHead, is the Miller Freeman's primary workboat. The aluminum V-hull boat has a 10' beam and a loaded draft of 3 feet. The boat is configured with a CAT 3208 Engine, 185 HP. It has 115 volt AC electrical capability and includes a radar, GPS system, depth sounder and VHF/FM radio. The launch can carry 8 persons plus a driver, but is best operational with 3 persons plus a driver. It runs at 21 kts and can be deployed for extended daylight trips. The Munson is designed with a deattachable A-frame for conducting oceanographic operations in shallow bays and areas where the ship cannot reach.
	Fast Rescue Boat The Willard Sea Force 540 rescue boat (commonly referred to as the "Fast Rescue Boat" or FRB) is a rigid inflatable boat powered by a 90 horsepower Yamaha 4-stroke gasoline outboard motor. It can obtain a maximum speed of approximately 28 kts and can carry 4 persons plus a driver. It can also be used for various oceanographic mooring work. It is designated as Miller Freeman's SOLAS approved fast rescue boat. The FRB is also used for transfer of personnel and various activities where speed and maneuverability are a requirement.
