President George W. Bush Joins in Observing Arts and Humanities MonthTHE WHITE HOUSEWASHINGTON October 10, 2003 Laura and I send greetings to those observing October as National Arts and Humanities Month. The arts influence American life and inspire creativity, openness, and expression in our citizens. An education in the arts and humanities fosters skills for success and encourages good citizenship in our students. As we observe National Arts and Humanities Month, we encourage all Americans to visit museums and libraries, read books, play music, and participate in other creative activities that enrich our society. By sharing in the arts and the talents of our citizens, we celebrate the diversity and strength of our Nation.
