Meet the changing needs of power distributors and directly served customers for energy products and services in changing markets.

Minimize flood damage, maintain navigation, support power production, improve water quality, protect public health and the environment, and support recreational uses.

Provide services based on core expertise to solve regional problems, protect natural resources, create jobs, and build partnerships for public benefit.

Values

To achieve a position of leadership, TVA relies on leaders at all levels who continuously strive to exceed the Goals, energetically communicate the Vision, and live (or model) the following Seven Values aimed at Strategic Teamwork for Action and Results:


Integrity

Value actions that are fair, responsible, and proper above all else. Conduct all activities according to the highest ethical standards and measures of social responsibility.


Respect for the Individual

Recognize that everyone--and everyone's work--is important and that managing and utilizing diversity are keys to business success. Give the responsibility, authority, training and tools necessary to make decisions to the person closest to the internal or external customer.


Accountability

Take responsibility for our own assigned tasks and the performance of our workgroup, plant, and TVA. Focus on ownership versus blaming when encountering setbacks. Demonstrate a can-do attitude by taking initiative.


Teamwork

Value working cooperatively with others toward what is needed "to get the job done for TVA"--not on "what is my job."


Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Foster an atmosphere that values quality, constant improvement, and creativity; encourages prudent risk-taking; and uses mistakes as an opportunity for learning.

Establish effective, honest and open communication among all employees, business units, and customers to improve TVA's effectiveness.

Be quick and flexible in responding to new opportunities and meeting customers' needs. Embrace necessary change.
