Colorado Utilities and the Economic Stimulus Package |
The economic stimulus package being considered by the Congress will likely make available, in a competitive grant process, very large financial resources for investment in energy infrastructure. Access to these resources will require rapid response by Colorado utilities. The Commission desires that Colorado’s investor-owned electric and gas utilities maximize the scale and scope of the funding they seek in a Colorado proposal.

New Weekly Meeting Format |
The PUC has changed the format of its weekly meeting agenda. Essentially, the meeting will be divided into two parts – the first section of the meeting will be similar to a consent agenda and the second section of the meeting will be for items to be discussed. The consent agenda will cover four agenda categories for all industries. The categories are uncontested/consent items, referrals to administrative law judges, administrative items, and items that become effective by operation of law. Although an item may appear on the first part of the agenda, the Commissioners may decide to move an item to the discussion section. This new format will be followed beginning with the weekly meeting on Wednesday, March 4. Please be patient with us, there are bound to be some glitches at first. We’re hoping that the new format will make the meetings more efficient. |

After the initial phase, all filings may be exclusively submitted and distributed electronically. Among the benefits of the electronic filing system:
