Fort McPherson is located inside the Perimeter (I-285) on the southwest side of Atlanta, just off of Ga. Hwy. 166 (also known as the Arthur Langford Parkway, and formerly known as the Lakewood Freeway). Hwy. 166 runs east and west between I-75/85 and I-285.

From the Northeast (Greenville, South Carolina)

South on I-85 passing through the city of Atlanta to GA-166 (Exit 243)
West on GA-166 to the N. Main Street & East Point exit.

From the East (Augusta, Georgia)

West on I-20 to I-285 (Exit 67)
Southwest on I-285 to I-75 North (Exit 58)
North on I-75 to GA-166 (Exit 243)
West on GA-166 to the N. Main Street & East Point exit.

From the South (Macon, Georgia)

North on I-75 to GA-166 (Exit 243)
West on GA-166 to the N. Main Street & East Point exit.

From the Southwest (Columbus, Georgia)

North on I-85 to I-285 (Exit 68)
North on I-285 to GA-166 (Exit 5A)
East on GA-166 to the US-29/GA-139, Fort McPherson & East Point exit.

From the West (Birmingham, Alabama)

East on I-20 to I-285 (Exit 51A)
South on I-285 to GA-166 (Exit 5A)
East on GA-166 to the US-29/GA-139, Fort McPherson & East Point exit.

From the Northwest (Chattanooga, Tennessee)

South on I-75 passing by Marietta to I-285 (Exit 259)
South on I-285 to GA-166 (Exit 5A)
East on GA-166 to the US-29/GA-139, Fort McPherson & East Point exit.

Fort McPherson is directly across the street from the Lakewood-Fort McPherson Transit Station on the North/South Line.

Directions after entering Fort McPherson

If your vehicle does not have a current DoD registration decal, enter Ft. McPherson and stop by the Military Police office (on your right) to obtain a visitor's pass. Continue through the security gate in the far right lane. Follow the sign for HQ 3rd US Army. The parking lot will be on your right across for Building 363, Patton Hall, our headquarters building. Use the telephone and staff directory in the lobby of Patton Hall to contact the office you wish to visit. They will send someone to escort you inside the building.
