Surface Water Data
Metolius River Gage house
Introduction - Data developement process;  How we gather and publish streamflow data.

Realtime Streamflow and Lake Level Data - Locate surface water measuring sites around the state that provide real time information.  Most of these links connect to the U.S. Geological Survey, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers´ web sites.

Historical Streamflow and Lake Level Data - Allows you to locate surface water measuring sites around the state and request data for a specific period of time.  Includes site information and data for both active and inactive sites.

Oregon Surface Water Supply Index - (opens in new window) The Natural Resources Conservation Service provides maps and data detailing the surface water supply for Oregon.  Maps and charts are updated once per month.  They also include options for downloading the data they use to develop the index.

Surface Water Availabilty
Water Availability Report System - Estimated streamflow and surface water availability in Oregon.  Water availability is the amount of water that can be appropriated from a given point on a given stream for new out-of-stream consumptive uses.  It is obtained from the natural stream flow by subtracting existing in-stream water rights and out-of-stream consumptive uses.   For a detailed description of the Water Availability Report program and the methodology used to develop it, you may review the report titled Determining Water Availability in Oregon (PDF 4.7 MB).

Estimation of Peak Streamflows
Peak Flow Estimation Program - Peak flow estimates for user specified sites in Oregon. A study of the magnitude and frequency of floods in western Oregon has been completed by the Oregon Water Resources Department with financial assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Oregon Department of Transportation, and the Association of Oregon Counties and with the cooperation of the U.S. Geological Survey. The study was undertaken to provide engineers and land managers with the information needed to make informed decisions about development in or near watercourses.

Dam and Hydroelectric Site Information
Dam Information - Inventory of dams in Oregon. This web page allows you to locate dam sites in Oregon and access information associated with them. The information you can find here includes the person or agency that owns the dam, the project name, location, and more.

Hydrolectric Projects - Inventory of hydroelectric project sites in Oregon.  This web page allows you to locate hydroelectric sites in Oregon and access information about those sites. The information found here includes the person who owns the hydroelectric site, the project name, location, and more.

Summary Report on the Failure of Simplot Wastewater Lagoon #1 (PDF 2.8 MB) - This report examines the catastrophic failure of the off-channel wastewater reservoir located 5 miles southwest of Hermiston, Oregon on April 26, 2005.
