Parking

What are the parking options at my station?

Not all BART stations have parking, but for those that do there are a variety of options.

Parking Programs

Monthly Reserved Parking
Monthly Reserved Permit Parking is available at most BART stations. Permits are station-specific and cost between $30 and $115.50 per month (subject to change). They guarantee a space within a designated parking area close to the station Monday through Friday until 10 a.m.

Buy your Monthly Reserved Permit online now at ParkingCarma, which offers an easy, convenient and secure way to purchase with a credit card. Permits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

You'll need to display your permit on the lower left hand corner (driver's side) of your windshield when you park. After 10 a.m., any unoccupied spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Daily Fee Parking
You need to pay a daily fee to park at some BART stations. The Daily Parking fee at West Oakland is $5.00. The Daily Parking fee at Daly City is $3.00. The Daily Parking Fee at Colma is $2.00. The Daily Parking Fee at Ashby, Castro Valley, Dublin/Pleasanton, El Cerrito Plaza, Fremont, Fruitvale, MacArthur, Lafayette, Lake Merritt, North Berkeley, Orinda, Rockridge, Walnut Creek, Millbrae, San Bruno, South San Francisco and Union City is $1.00.

Daily parking fees are required Monday through Friday from 4:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The easiest way to pay for daily parking is to purchase an EZ Rider card. Simply pass the card over the scanner located in the paid area of the BART station and you will have paid the parking fee. Once you have signed up for an EZ Rider card, you will be sent a plastic hang tag with a unique serial number. The hang tag must be visibly attached to your rear view mirror. Each time you use your EZ Rider card to pay for parking, money is automatically deducted from your account. Once the balance falls below a certain level, it is replenished from your credit card or bank account. To obtain an E-Z Rider card, go to https://ezrider.bart.gov/ezrider/

Without an EZ Rider card, you will need to take note of your parking stall number and then follow these procedures:

1. Proceed through the fare gates and go to addfare/parking validation machine.
2. Insert your blue BART ticket into the addfare/parking validation machine.
3. Take your receipt from the bottom tray of the parking validation machine.

BART customers may also pay the daily parking fee in cash at the addfare/parking validation machine.

Single Day Reserved Parking
BART offers Single Day Reserved Permit Parking at many stations. This permit allows riders to purchase a reserved permit for single days and park in the Permit/Reserved area. Your reservation is for arrival before 10 am.

You need to purchase a permit online, print it out and display it on your dashboard when you park. The cost of single day reserved parking varies by station and you can make a reservation as late as the night before you need to use it. Airport/Long Term Parking
Airport/Long Term Permit parking is an exception to BART's 24-hour time restriction. Airport/Long Term parking is available for $5.00 a day at all East Bay BART parking lots (except Coliseum, Richmond and West Oakland) and for $6 per day in the Colma, South San Francisco, San Bruno and Millbrae BART parking lots.

A limited number of Airport/Long Term spaces are available in the Monthly Reserved parking area. Spaces are guaranteed until 10 a.m. After 10 a.m., any unoccupied parking space will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Buy your Airport/Long Term Parking Permit online now at ParkingCarma, which offers an easy, convenient and secure way to purchase with a credit card.

24-hour weekday time limit
There is a 24-hour weekday time limit on parking in all BART lots (See Airport/Long Term Parking for an exception to this rule). Vehicles left in BART parking facilities for more than 24 hours will be subject to fine.

Extended Weekend Parking
At all parking lots, there is Extended Weekend parking and the 24 hour rule is waived at the start of train service on Friday through 2 a.m. Monday and major holidays that fall on a Monday or Friday. BART riders at stations where there is a daily fee requirement must pay the daily fee for Friday. Should a designated holiday when parking fees are not required (see below) fall on a Friday patrons are allowed to park from the start of train service on Thursday until 2:00 am Monday. Should one of the designated holidays fall on a Monday patrons are allowed to park from the start of train service on Friday until 2:00 am Tuesday.

Parking holidays
Parking fees are not enforced on New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
