All businesses that transport people for hire by automobile, bus, van, etc., are regulated to some degree by the PUC. (40-10-104 C.R.S.)
Requirements include: Registration; Vehicle safety Inspection; Varying levels of insurance coverage (Form E).
It may be necessary to demonstrate a public need to start a new taxi service in some areas.
Complete "Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity to Operate as a Common Carrier by Motor Vehicle for Hire." ($35 filing fee)
