Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) or Registered Nurse: Licensed by Exam. Submit application and fee, verification of graduation from an approved program, and obtain passing score on licensing exam.
License by Endorsement for L.P.N. or R.N.: Submit application and fee, verification of graduation from an approved nursing program. Verification of having passed licensing exam and verification of current licenser in another U.S. state or territory. For all fees please refer to Board.
Nursing Midwife - is issued a RN license.
Nurse Anesthetist - is issued a RN license.
Nurse Aides: Must complete approved training course and pass written and manual skills exam. NOTE: Does not include Aides working in acute care hospitals. A criminal background check is also done on Nurse Aides.
Psychiatric Technician: Colorado licenses psychiatric technicians with separate licenses in two specialty areas: care of the developmentally disabled and care of the mentally ill. Colorado has a mandatory psychiatric technician practice act which means that no one may practice as a psychiatric technician without a Colorado license. Must complete a state approved psychiatric training program to be eligible to take the licensing examination.
