Communications and Systems Engineering
Example areas of technical research for which internship support is sought include:
Interoperability testing of heterogeneous telecommunication networks and end-user devices (requiring a base knowledge of Internet and telephony protocols and test equipment/procedures);
Advancement of procedures and tools (e.g., analytical models, simulation, prototype system development) useful for interoperability analysis, both functional and performance, of advanced information systems and services (especially hybrid wireless/wireline networks);
Development of telecommunication planning tools, including network management and system administration tools.
