Organization

The mission of the Colorado Office of Cyber Security (OCS) is directly aligned with the goals and objectives of the National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace and is the single state source for cyber security readiness and awareness.  Working closely with federal, state, local and private sector partners, the Office of Cyber Security actively gathers and analyzes information on cyber threats and vulnerabilities that present risk to the state's information systems or the critical information managed within.

 


Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

The CISO, codified by CRS 24-37.5-401 et seq, is appointed by the governor and is responsible for enterprise-wide cyber security governance and management.  Seth Kulakow is the current appointed CISO, click here for his bio and background.

 


Office of Cyber Security (OCS)

The Office of Cyber Security is responsible for security risk management across state departments.  This group manages policies, consults with agencies on technical matters, and manages enterprise projects to meet security requirements.

 


Information Security Operation's Center (ISOC)

The ISOC is responsible for day-to-day operations of the security infrastructure, including firewall management, Intrusion Detection system management, Log Collection and analysis, and Incident Response.  The ISOC also leads working groups consisting of technical staff from state departments to define IT Security Standards.
