The General Services Division provides overall direction, coordination, and supervision for an array of administrative activities required in the operation of the United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC), ensuring that such activities are consistent with laws and regulations, Executive Orders, and public policy.
The General Services Division supports the United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission by providing services in the areas of Personal Property, Headquarters Building Management, Supply and Logistical Services, telecommunications, and fleet management.
Under the direction of the Administration Department the Personal Property Branch supports the United States Section by providing services in the area of personal property administration, fleet management, Headquarters building management, and telecommunications.
The major functions of the Personal Property Branch include acquisition, utilization and disposal of personal property, disposal of excess computer equipment under Executive Order 12999 Educational Technology, management of the agency’s Headquarters building, agency fleet management, and telecommunications. Schools and qualified nonprofit organizations interested in receiving excess computer equipment as allowed by E.O. 12999 should mail or fax a letter to the Property Officer requesting consideration in the agency's Computers for Learning program. List any special needs your school or organization may have, and the USIBWC will try to provide equipment to meet your requirements. Computer equipment is available on a limited basis, and all letters will be held on file until their request can be fulfilled. Waiting time may extend up to two years, depending upon the turnover of equipment in the agency.
