Seamless Topographic/Bathymetric Elevation Model for Tampa Bay, Florida

The U.S. Geological Survey and NOAA joined efforts to produce a 1-arc second topobathy elevation product for Tampa Bay. For more information, see the publication by D. Gesch and R. Wilson, 2001, "Development of a Seamless Multisource Topographic/Bathymetric Elevation Model for Tampa Bay", Marine Technology Society Journal, Volume 35, Number 4, Pages 58 to 64, Winter 2001/2002, Follow this link for additional information on this project.

NOAA NGDC Tsunami Inundation Gridding Project

NOAA's National Geophysical Data Center (NGDC) is building high-resolution digital elevation models (DEMs) for select U.S. coastal regions. These combined bathymetric/topographic DEMs are used to support tsunami forecasting and modeling efforts at the NOAA Center for Tsunami Research, Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL), www.ngdc.noaa.gov/mgg/inundation/.

NOAA NGDC Digital Elevation Model (DEM) Discovery Portal

NGDC has created a geospatial on-line catalog that links to Web-published DEMs. This "DEM Discovery Portal" uses an ArcIMS map interface to locate, preview, and link to DEM webpages for download.

USGS Topobathy Viewer

The topobathy viewer provides a dynamic on-line map interface that can be used to view U.S. Geological Survey topobathy DEMs.

USGS Alaska Topobathy DEM

A seamless topographic/bathymetric surface has been created for the area around the coastal town of Seward, Alaska. This digital elevation model (DEM) was created by combining high-resolution lidar topography and multibeam bathymetry. The DEM was developed to study submarine landslides and tsunamis produced by the 1964 earthquake and for generating computer models of tsunami wave propagation and inundation. Access to the article is through the following Web address, http://pubs.usgs.gov/ds/374/.

Texas Topobathy Digital Elevation Models (DEMs)

This data set is composed of topobathy DEMs that cover the coastal region and Continental shelf of Texas. It is compatible with geographic information systems including ArcGIS version 9.0 and ArcGIS version 9.2. It was sponsored by Texas Sea Grant and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, and work was completed by scientists at Texas A&M. You can direcly access this dataset and associated metadata using the following ftp site, ftp://ftp2.tnris.state.tx.us/Elevation/BathyTopo.
