How much does it cost to ride the bus?

One-way fares for the ABQ RIDE system are as follows:

  • One - Day Pass $2
  • Two - Day Pass $4
  • Three - Day Pass $6
  • Adults pay $1.00 each way
  • Honored Citizens (persons with disabilities, 62 years or older, Medicare

cardholders) pay only $ 0.35 each way

What are the service hours for ABQ RIDE buses?

Weekday service for ABQ RIDE buses is provided from approximately 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Weekend service is provided from about 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Where can I get an ABQ RIDE bus schedule?

Where can I purchase bus passes for ABQ RIDE?

Bus passes may be purchased in many locations around Albuquerque. Check the Bus Pass Outlets page for more information.

What is ABQ RIDE's Rapid Ride?

Rapid Ride is a rapid bus service provided by ABQ RIDE.

The Rapid Red Line runs every 10 minutes along an 11-mile route along Central Avenue from Unser to Wyoming, then north on Wyoming to the Uptown Shopping Center.

The Rapid Blue Line connects Albuquerque's West Side with the University of New Mexico campus.

Signal priority systems allow drivers to hold a green signal or shorten a red signal light so that buses can move through traffic more quickly.

Does the ABQ RIDE bus system sell tokens to ride?

No. As of February 1, 2009, tokens will no longer be sold.

Is there a bus pass that I can purchase if I am a visitor or only plan to use the ABQ RIDE bus system for a short period of time?

Individuals have the option to purchase a One - Day pass for $2, a Two - Day pass for $4, or a  Three -Day pass for $6. These passes are valid for unlimited rides for the number of consecutive day(s) purchased.

This pass can be purchased at ABQ RIDE Customer Service on the lower level of the Alvarado Transportation Center (map) located in Downtown Albuquerque on the corner of 1st Street and Central Avenue (across from Tucanos and Century 24 Movie Theatre).

Paid parking is available in the parking structure south of the Alvarado Transportation Center at 2nd Street and Gold Ave.

Is there an ABQ RIDE bus pass available for purchase by income eligible citizens?

A monthly TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) Bus Pass is available for $20.00. These passes are only available through an employer or an agency that specifically deals with TANF eligible citizens.

What is the ABQ RIDE Summer Fun Bus Pass?

The Summer Fun Bus Pass is an unlimited rides bus pass for students 10 years through highschool. Passes are available everywhere ABQ RIDE passes are sold. Learn more >>

Can I take my bike on an ABQ RIDE bus?

Yes. All ABQ RIDE buses are equipped with two bike racks on the front of each bus. This allows commuters the opportunity to bike to a bus stop and finish their commute by bus. What is ABQ RIDE's Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program?

The Guaranteed Ride Home (GRH) program is a form of insurance for commuters who regularly use alternative modes of transportration instead of a Single Occupancy Vehicle (SOV). The commuter must use an alternative mode of transportation to get to and from work or school at least three times a week. If the commuter meets these qualifications, they become eligible to resigter for the GRH program. When there is an unexpected emergency the GRH member is entitled to a free ride home from work or school. What is Sun Van paratransit service?

Sun Van is a share-a-ride, curb-to-curb public transportation service for Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)-eligible persons with mobility impairments who are unable to ride a fixed-route bus. For more information contact ABQ RIDE customer service at (505) 243-RIDE (243-7433). Learn more >>

How do I qualify for the Sun Van paratransit service?

You must be certified as ADA-eligible to receive a MINI-RIDE identification card. The card enables you to utilize the paratransit service. For more information regarding the application process or the related forms, please call 243-RIDE (243-7433). Learn more >>

During what hours does the Sun Van paratransit service operate?

MINI-RIDE service hours are Monday through Saturday from 5:30 am to 10:30 pm and Sundays from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. Please call ABQ RIDE customer service for more information regarding qualification or to reserve your MINI-RIDE at (505) 243-RIDE (7433). Learn more >>

The Gas Refueling Station is located at 4th & Aspen in Downtown Albuquerque. The phone number there is 768-5322.
